What is Navagraha Śānti?
Navagraha shanti is a pooja for the nine planetary deities of Vedic astrology (Surya, Chandra, Mangala, Budha, Guru, Shukra, Shani, Rahu and Ketu). Each graha is invoked, worshipped and offered mantras, grains and a homa to ask for balance and relief from difficult planetary influences.
Families commonly arrange it when a jyotishi recommends shanti for a graha dosha, during Sade Sati or a challenging dasha, or simply to begin a new chapter on a stable footing. It pairs naturally with a kundali consultation, which can tell you which grahas need most attention.
When should you perform it?
- When your kundali shows a graha dosha, such as Mangal dosha or Kaal Sarp, and your jyotishi advises shanti
- During Sade Sati, a Shani dasha or any period of repeated obstacles
- Before a major life event such as marriage, a new home or a business launch
- On a day linked to the graha being propitiated, as selected by your pandit
What is included
- Sankalp mentioning your name, gotra and the grahas being propitiated
- Worship of all nine grahas with their mantras and offerings
- Havan and closing aarti, with guidance on any follow-up daan (charity)
- A pandit matched to your tradition and language
- Muhurat guidance for the right date and time
- A dedicated contact from confirmation to the day itself

What we need from your family
- Birth details (date, time and place) of the person for whom the pooja is performed
- The jyotishi's recommendation, if you have one, so the pandit focuses on the right grahas
- The family member concerned to be present for the sankalp and havan
- A willingness to follow any simple suggestions on daan or conduct afterwards
Your pandit
Every pandit on SanskarSetu is vetted before joining. Once you book, we match one to your family's tradition and share their details with you.
- Background and training checked before joining the platform
- Matched to your region, sampradaya and language
- Assigned within 24 hours of your booking
- Arrives with the vidhi prepared and explains each step as it is performed
Mantras are recited in Sanskrit and explained in Hindi or English as you prefer. If your family follows a regional tradition, tell us when you book and we match a pandit who knows it, subject to availability.
