What is Vāstu Śānti?
Vastu shanti is a pooja to harmonise a home, office or plot with Vastu Purusha, the presiding deity of a site, and the five elements. It is performed with the worship of Vastu Purusha and the directional guardians (dikpalas), followed by a havan.
It is most often done to bless a new or renovated property, or when a site has been occupied after a long gap. It complements, rather than replaces, any practical Vastu corrections suggested by an expert.
When should you perform it?
- Before griha pravesh in a newly built home or office
- After construction changes, such as demolition, extension or a significant renovation
- When buying a resale property, to bless it before occupation
- When you feel the space needs a ritual reset, as advised by your pandit or Vastu consultant
